Turtle Hotline

There are sea turtles in Oregon!

In 2006 STF started this program to educate Oregonians about their critically endangered Leatherback sea turtles that forage in summer months off the Oregon coast. Very few people are aware that there are sea turtles in US northern waters.

With this program, STF educates the public and children in schools about turtle history, biology, threats, and ways to help protect these giants from extinction.

Your observations help marine conservation efforts! If you see a turtle on or near the Oregon Coast, please call or email the
STF Hotline. Jot down some notes about your turtle sighting and send us your information. Your observations matter!

And of course, if you see a turtle in distressplease call the STF Hotline immediately! (503) 739-1446
